Abstract
Neopost Online is a US postal company, that provides shipping services. The Simply Packages business provides intermediary services between customers who ship packages and carriers delivering those packages.
The Simply Packages software is a Web based system allowing Neopost Online`s customers to ship their packages online, including online order preparation, rate calculation, credit card payment and others.
Purpose of the Project
To develop a Web based system that automates significant part of interactions between Neopost Online and customers. The system should:
- Automate online order preparation process;
- Process online credit card payment;
- Communicate with in-store software to distribute orders information to locations where customers will drop packages;
- Provide a tool for Customer Service department for working with customers.
Objectives
- To be able to create and pay package delivery order online;
- To minimize manual retyping of all the package information;
- To save customer`s time by preparing package online and then just dropping it off in stores;
- To provide customers with an ability to choose the most sufficient delivery service from list of available ones;
- To store customer`s shipping preferences to save her time when shipping multiple packages or shipping packages to the same locations.
