Trade Finance Information System

Purpose of the Project

To re-write the existing Trade Finance Information System, taking advantage of new Web and Java technologies and Object methodologies available. A system that is easier to use and maintain.

Objectives

• Provide Corporate Treasury with a mechanism to store high level information pertaining to the sale of equipment
• Assist the financial representatives in the various subsidiaries in finding financing for large equipment sales
• Notify selected Financial Institutions of available financing possibilities by fax
• Provide reports for Corporate Treasury
• Provide ability to search and filter information with specific parameters using separate phone book

Customer Requirements

• IBM Visual Age for JAVA v2.0 and RMI from JDK 1.1.6.
• Account corporate CAT standards
• Adhere to the Common Operating Environment initiative and
• Same platform as other current development projects.

Solution

Client applet
Client applet allows remote user to create, search, view, edit and store deals in the database.

User also has the ability to send faxes to banks with financial proposals

Administrator applet allows system administrator to maintain reference information

System administrator can also create statistical reports

Phonebook applet
World-wide Treasury Contacts phonebook allows user to find Treasury contacts world-wide
